Arrivals recorded in tourist accommodation structures between January 1 and November 30, 2022, totaled 10.492 million people, an increase of 20.6% compared to the same period in 2021, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Out of the total number of arrivals in the first 11 months of 2022, Romanian tourists in accommodation structures represented 86.1%, while foreign tourist arrivals recorded a percentage of 13.9%.

Overnight stays recorded in tourist accommodation structures between January 1 and November 30, 2022, totaled 22.756 million, an increase of 16.4% compared to the corresponding period in 2021. Out of the total number of overnight stays, Romanian tourists’ stays represented 86.1%, while foreign tourists accounted for 13.9%.

The average length of stay during the 11 months of 2022 was 2.2 days for both Romanian and foreign tourists. The net utilization index of tourist accommodation capacity was 30.4% across all accommodation structures, an increase of 3.3 percentage points compared to the same period in 2021.

By county, during the analyzed period, the number of tourist arrivals recorded higher values in: Bucharest (1.348 million people), Constanța (1.236 million people), and Brașov (1.084 million people). Overnight stays also saw higher values in: Constanța (4.070 million), Bucharest (2.665 million), and Brașov (2.015 million).
