Otopeni Airport has adopted several measures in the context of the epidemic

Henri Coanda International Airport has announced the measures taken in the context of the coronavirus epidemic, starting from May 15, when Romania entered a state of alert.

The Bucharest National Airports Company has the following recommendations for those who will be at the airport starting May 15:

  1. Maintain permanent contact with the airline for any flight-related information!
  2. Upon arrival at the airport, passenger drop-off will take place at a distance from the terminal, and they will be directed straight to the waiting tents. The entire passenger route is visibly marked.
  3. The bus station and the taxi/car drop-off platform have been repositioned. Car access to the Departures parking lot also follows a modified flow. These are visibly signaled. Note: due to works on the rail connection with Gara de Nord, traffic in the airport area is still diverted!
  4. Wearing a protective mask and maintaining a physical distance of 1 m from others are mandatory at all times.
  5. Departure from the tents to the passenger terminal will be in groups organized by airport employees, depending on the destination and scheduled flight time.
  6. Access to the passenger terminal is only allowed for passengers arriving in an organized manner from the waiting tents. To maintain the 1 m distance, the instructions on the floor stickers must be followed.
  7. Loitering is not permitted in the public area of the passenger terminal. In this regard, all benches in the area have been removed.
  8. After completing check-in formalities, passengers will follow the usual flow, maintaining a 1 m distance from others. Wearing a mask is mandatory, including during access formalities and security checks.
  9. The necessary space to maintain a 1 m distance from others is ensured in the boarding area.
  10. Transfer buses to/from the aircraft will be occupied at a maximum of 50% capacity.
  11. Boarding the aircraft will start from the row furthest from the aircraft door. Disembarking will start from the row next to the door.
  12. The arrivals flow remains unchanged, but access to the terminal for persons other than passengers is prohibited. The mandatory permanent wearing of a protective mask and maintaining a 1 m distance from others remain in effect.
  13. For justified reasons (access to restrooms, supermarket, purchasing flight tickets, etc.), access to the terminal will be allowed for persons other than passengers.
  14. Disinfectant solution dispensers are located throughout the departure/arrival passenger flow – we recommend using them, especially after passing through controls. The terminal infrastructure in the area is disinfected at least 10 times/day.
  15. Please follow the instructions of the airport staff!
  16. Any changes imposed by the authorities will be immediately implemented and brought to the public’s attention.
