Last year, Oradea recorded a decrease of only 48% in the number of tourist arrivals compared to 2019, while this percentage is approximately 60% in Romania and around 70% at the European level, stated the executive director of the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Oradea and the Region (APTOR), Alexandru Chira.
While in previous years there were 10% foreign tourists, in 2020 their number dropped to 4%, mostly from Hungary, Germany, and Italy, with the rest being Romanian citizens.
At the end of 2020, Oradea ranked sixth, after Bucharest, Constanta, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, and Sibiu.
