Aurelian Marin, president of the National Association of Travel Agencies in Romania (ANAT), stated that Mamaia resort is the most sought-after destination for May 1st and, according to estimates, the resort will be 80% full, with hotels in the center-north area being the best-selling.
The ANAT representative stated that this year, sales for the May 1st mini-break will be 10% higher, partly because they started earlier.
In the southern part of the coast, more tourists will be in Vama Veche, as well as in Eforie Nord.
Rates at a 2-star hotel in Mamaia start from 60-80 RON/person/night, at a 3-star hotel rates start from 100-150 RON/person/night for accommodation with breakfast and reach up to 200 RON/person/night at a 4-star hotel. In the southern part of the coast, rates are about 25% lower.
For the May 1st mini-break, agencies have sold over 35,000 accommodation spots for the seaside alone.
