Number of Romanians visiting Germany in 2015 increased by over 10%

In 2015, Germany was visited by 801,705 Romanian tourists, an increase of over 10% compared to 2014, and by 2030, their number will double, according to an estimate made by the marketing and sales director of the German National Tourist Board, DZT, Cristian Sallai.
Currently, Germany is the second most visited country by Europeans, after Spain, with 79.7 million overnight stays by foreign guests in 2015.
Globally, 1 billion international trips were recorded in 2015, 573 million of which had Europe as a destination. Germany contributed to this global volume with a total of 59 million trips, an increase of 4% compared to the previous year, according to data recorded by the IPK International Market Research Institute, following the evaluation of preliminary World Travel Monitor data.
At the same time, Germany remains the leader in the European business tourism market, recording 3.6 million trips for congresses/conferences and 2.8 million visitors to various fairs/exhibitions.
In total, Europeans spent 31.9 billion EUR last year on transport, accommodation, meals, and shopping during their trips to Germany, as well as during arrival and departure, 8% more than the previous year.
By 2030, Germany’s domestic tourism industry could reach 121.5 million overnight stays, 80% more than at present, DZT estimates.
