New Year’s Eve bookings in mountain resorts have reached half of last year’s levels, with the main causes being tourism restrictions—closed restaurants and the ban on parties with more than 20 guests—as well as the fear of COVID-19 infection among some Romanians, stated Dragoș Răducan, First Vice-President of the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers (FPTR).
According to FPTR data, currently, only about 50% of spots in guesthouses are booked, but not all are paid for, as tourists are waiting to see what restrictions will emerge by then.
Hotels, on the other hand, are currently booked at a rate of only 20-30% for New Year’s Eve.
