Ana Hotels, George Copos’s company managing cable transport in Brașov, promises that in one year we will have a new cable car to Tâmpa Peak and a renovated restaurant.
Ioan Rufa, director of Ana Teleferic, George Copos’s company which owns several cable transport means in Brașov and Poiana Brașov, announced that it will be replaced, and the Panoramic restaurant, the cable car’s arrival point at the top of the mountain, will be renovated.
„At this moment, the data for the cable car is more certain, as the contract is currently signed and we know all the stages. We will have to keep the two buildings and introduce new equipment into their structure. We will have to install other cables, change everything related to the gear system, which is a bit more delicate,” specified Ioan Rufa.
The company director says that, upon completion of the works, the cable car’s capacity will increase to nearly 500 people per hour. Moreover, the cable car will have facilities for people with disabilities and the elderly, so that anyone can enjoy a visit to Brașov’s symbolic mountain.
George Copos’s company director also says that Brașov has grown significantly in terms of tourism and Tâmpa is also very visited. Unfortunately, at this moment there is no possibility of having a meal or a drink at a restaurant at the top of the mountain, but this will change.
According to Ioan Rufa, these things will be possible through a project estimated at at least 11 million EUR, which could be completed by March 2025, if all necessary permits are obtained in time.
