Over 10,000 Romanians will spend their winter holidays in exotic destinations on other continents and, although beach destinations remain at the top of preferences, the demand for tourist circuits is continuously growing, according to representatives of travel agencies.
The highest number of requests were recorded for trips to countries such as Cuba, the Maldives, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Mexico, or the United States of America.
Also, according to representatives of the Eturia travel agency, there were special requests, such as cruises in Sydney on New Year’s Eve to see the fireworks near the Opera House, or festive New Year’s Eve dinners directly on the beach on one of the atoll islands in the Maldives.
Travel agency analyses show that Romanians pay, on average, between 1,500 and 3,500 EUR for an exotic New Year’s Eve holiday.
Another favorite destination for Romanians is South Africa due to the cultural experience and the racial mosaic that gave the area the name “Rainbow Nation.” Cape Town, the Cape of Good Hope, Johannesburg, and Kruger Park are just some of the best-known tourist attractions for a New Year’s Eve in South Africa. The price for such a holiday starts from 1,995 EUR/person.
The cost of a New Year’s Eve in Singapore and Bali starts from 1,895 EUR/person. For a New Year’s Eve where they can enjoy the special view of tropical islands and the facilities of a modern resort, Romanians pay starting from 2,590 EUR/person.
Also, New Year’s Eve in Dubai is among the favorites of Romanians, and those who opted for luxury packages are aged between 30 and 45, have above-average incomes, usually travel as a couple, and book several holidays a year. They prefer chain hotels, some located on the beach, which in the Emirates exceed international luxury standards and serve only breakfast at the hotel to enjoy everything Dubai has to offer in terms of gastronomy.
