Mohammad Murad Analyzed the Current Situation on the Romanian Seaside
The President of the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers observed that this week the number of people on the seaside was the highest since the start of the summer season, approximately 80,000-90,000 people, but this is very low compared to 2021 when the number was between 140,000-180,000.
The main reason is considered to be higher prices, although the businessman claims that they have not increased, even though food and utilities are approximately 50%-60% more expensive.
In March, due to the situation in Ukraine, sales were heavily affected.
Mohammad Murad believes that the largest decrease in the number of tourists in the last 30 years is due to the way new constructions were carried out, the fact that there are very few green spaces, and the high price for parking in the Mamaia resort.
In his opinion, in Eforie, the attracted European funds were managed properly.
In the southern area of the seaside, investments were made, which stimulated performance to a level above that of last year.
Mamaia shows a visible decline in terms of tourism, due to the large number of apartment blocks and the unexpected negative effect of the widened beach.
