The Minister of Tourism, Bogdan Trif, announced that work is underway on the Spa Tourism Development Strategy in Romania and that it will be on the Government’s table in at most one month.
"We are working on the Spa Strategy which we are about to promote; in at most one month it will be on the Government’s table. It is agreed upon by them (the Employer’s Organization of Spa Tourism in Romania, n.r.) and they even thanked us for this, because it is a strategy on which you can base all the steps you want to take. Since the Revolution, we haven’t had such a thing, so these are clear measures taken for the spa sector, which no government has taken since the Revolution," stated Bogdan Trif.
He also specified that he had discussions with the leadership of the Employer’s Organization of Spa Tourism in Romania (OPTBR) and that in the Master Plan for National Tourism Development, spa resorts have been elevated to the rank of resorts of national interest.
