Minister of Tourism met with tourism operators and ANPC representatives in Brașov County

On December 12, the Minister of Tourism, Mircea Titus Dobre, met with tourism operators and representatives of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) in Brașov County.
During the meeting, he specified that we will soon have a new Tourism Law, and the possibility of having a common skipass across Brașov County in the future was also discussed.
“Here, in Poiana Brașov, the issue of the unique skipass has been resolved, but I believe it would be better to have a unique skipass for all slopes in the county. This is a prevention meeting, where we inform economic operators so that unpleasant surprises do not occur during the holiday period. Earnings from tourism are increasing over a much longer period than in previous years. Significant increases have been recorded, and we want this upward trend to continue. Soon we will have a new Tourism Law that will solve most of the problems,” stated Minister Mircea Dobre.
Also, during the working meeting, the issue of the need to respect a set of rules, the skiers’ decalogue, was raised, recalling that last year, on the slopes where this decalogue was implemented, the number of accidents was reduced by half.
Several issues related to infrastructure and projects that can be submitted by local authorities to obtain funding were addressed, in order to develop leisure infrastructure.
The Minister announced that holiday vouchers will be issued in the first quarter of next year, with the sum of 842 million RON approved for them in the 2018 budget.
The Minister of Tourism stated that, in 2017, domestic tourism achieved a growth of 47%, specifically revenues of 1.736 billion EUR, compared to 1.086 billion EUR in 2016, also representing an increase in this sector’s contribution to Romania’s GDP.
