Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Constantin-Daniel Cadariu, supports the initiative of the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT) regarding the establishment of a guarantee fund to ensure organized vacations when they are affected by a collaborator.
During the meeting organized on Wednesday, September 21, discussions included specialists from the relevant ministry, representatives of the National Credit Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (FNGCIMM), the Romanian Counter-Guarantee Fund (FRC), as well as the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT).
The guarantee program, as highlighted during the discussions, could be capitalized from FNGCIMM funds. Additionally, amounts paid by travel agencies, corresponding to their turnover, will be added when they are authorized. In this regard, it is necessary to update Order no. 156/2019 for the approval of Procedures for guaranteeing the amounts paid by travelers in connection with travel service packages/linked travel services in the event of the insolvency of the organizing travel agency and the procedures for compensating travelers, so that the possibility of allocating funds for this purpose is clearly provided.
MAT specifies that specialists within the relevant ministry will work on making specific modifications, and the document will be submitted for approval to the profile associative environment.
During the meeting, representatives of travel agencies also highlighted the need to establish a separate guarantee fund dedicated exclusively to flights.
