Bogdan Ivan, Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, attended the official opening of the Romanian Tourism Fair (TTR), spring edition 2025. The fair, hosted by Romexpo from 20 to 23 February 2025, was visited by over 23,000 people and brought together travel agents, tour operators, local public administrations, tourism associations and other relevant industry organizations, with the aim of presenting tourist offers and attractions both from Romania and abroad.
Minister Bogdan Ivan discussed with the exhibitors and welcomed the organization of such events, which bring to the public’s attention the tourist offer in our country and strengthen Romania’s place as a tourist destination, highlighting the results of Harghita County, which was recently awarded the title “European Region of Gastronomy 2027”.
“Romania is not just a destination on the map. It’s home. I had the pleasure of being with the people who bring the best of our country to the Romanian Tourism Fair. The fair was attended by the main relevant organizations in the industry, all united by the same goal: to strengthen Romania’s place on the international tourism map. From Bucovina to Maramureș, from the Danube Delta to Szeklerland, every corner of the country told its story with passion!”, said Bogdan Ivan, Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
The dignitary also said that he discussed with representatives of tourism associations present at the event about the national strategy for the development of spa tourism and other ways to attract more foreign tourists.
The minister said that he hopes that the flow of foreign tourists will increase in 2025 and in this regard he is working on the development of an application that will directly and automatically process the necessary data to create the profile of the tourist arriving in our country, in order to streamline marketing and promotion campaigns on foreign markets. Also, Minister Bogdan Ivan said that at the diplomatic level there are intensive discussions for trade agreements on tourism with countries imported from the European Union, but also from outside it, so as to create facilities related to tourist visas for foreigners.
Organized in the ROMEXPO pavilion, the Romanian Tourism Fair took place on an area of 12,000 square meters and brought together 190 exhibitors from home and abroad, consolidating its status as a reference platform in the tourism industry. Visitors were able to find discounts on both domestic packages and the most popular international destinations.
