Mega Mall Enters Final Stages of Preparation

The most significant shopping center developed in Bucharest over the last 5 years is nearing its opening day. Mega Mall will open its doors to customers on April 23 and aims for a head-to-head competition with Bucharest’s strongest malls, such as AFI Palace Cotroceni, Baneasa Shopping City, or Sun Plaza, targeting an annual turnover of approximately 200 million euros.
“Less than a year after pouring the foundation of Bucharest’s newest mall in February 2014, most of its main retailers have already begun setting up their stores. Mega Mall is currently in the final phase of construction, with over 2,000 workers participating in the building’s erection,” the project developers announced.
The shopping center in Pantelimon will feature an entertainment area, a Cinema City multiplex with 14 screens, a World Class center with a semi-olympic pool, a sports bar with bowling, and a 10,000-square-meter food court. This project was developed by the South African group NEPI and the Austrians from Real4You, who invested approximately 165 million euros in the new mall, which will have a surface area of 72,000 square meters, 3,000 parking spaces, and over 200 stores.
