On June 15, at Phoenicia Holiday Resort in Mamaia Nord – Navodari, a meeting took place between representatives of FPTR, ANT, a group of 30 senators, the mayors of Mangalia – Cristian Radu, Navodari – Florin Chelaru, and the vice-mayor of Constanta – Costin Rasauteanu.
During the debate, the business community presented the authorities with “10 for Romanian tourism” – 10 work themes that can bring national tourism back to where it was three decades ago.
The 10 themes were:
1. Re-establishing the Ministry of Tourism and creating a promotion plan assumed by
tourism employer associations;
2. Developing a strategy for vocational schools in tourism;
3. Developing facilities for the seasonal workforce;
4. Management of tourist resorts by companies established through public-private
partnerships;
5. Involvement of other ministries in supporting tourism: education, economy, labor,
transport, environment, culture;
6. Supporting balneary tourism – a healthy society is a prosperous society;
7. Creating an investment plan for tourist resorts;
8. Unblocking the specific tax law;
9. Legal approval of the urban planning for tourist resorts;
10. Creating special conditions for tourism in the Danube Delta.
The participants expressed their opinions on the 10 themes, and the main conclusion was that the Romanian tourism business environment desires continuous communication with state authorities, so that the latter have a clear image of tourism problems, in order to find the best solutions to resolve all the issues the industry faces.
