Marriott Hotel to be Part of Urban Plaza Project in Brașov
Urban Invest company launched work in the spring of 2019 on the Urban Plaza residential complex of 1,900 apartments, planned with several development stages, including a hotel component. To date, 780 homes have been delivered, and sales have reached 1,500 units. The company is currently in the process of working with the city’s urban planning commission to ensure traffic flows and access for the hotel and commercial area, separate from the residential area, as well as the minimum number of parking spaces.
The total investment, supported by a bank loan, is currently estimated at 120 million Euros and, upon the signing of the franchise agreement in June, additional information regarding the hotel component emerged. The hotel will have 161 rooms and will be operated under the Marriott brand. Alongside the hotel, an office building and a 20-story block are planned, the tallest residential building in the city. The three buildings are to be connected at the level of the first two floors, where a commercial and service center will be set up on the ground floor, while on the first floor, a conference room with a capacity of 450 seats, an Olympic swimming pool, and a children’s playground will be arranged. Additionally, Fratelli will manage the food court on the ground floor of the building, which will include cafes and banking centers.
Work is estimated to be completed in 2026.
The Urban Invest company is owned in equal parts by Ionuț Angheluș and his wife, Maria Alba Noheda Segovia, and last year they had a turnover of approximately 33.6 million euros and a profit of approximately 7.3 million euros.
