The Moneasa Local Council held a meeting to discuss a new €150 million investment in the resort, of which €47 million will come from private sources.
During this meeting, a favorable vote was given for the concession of a 24.3-hectare plot of land consisting of three lots from the commune’s private domain (Butuseasca area).
Businessman Gratian Sarbovan, who lives in Germany, plans to implement a project that includes the construction of a 150-room hotel complex with a treatment base and service housing for staff, as well as two clinics: one for oncology and one for diabetology.
Through this investment, new jobs will be generated, and domestic and international tourism in the Moneasa resort area will increase, including through the promotion of the future clinics in Germany and other countries.
The vote was necessary to obtain an agreement for the land concession.
The Moneasa City Hall had planned to implement another project on that land, an Adventure Park, for which the required investment would have been €5 million.
The construction duration will be approximately 3 years.
