Sphera Franchise Group, the largest foodservice operator in Romania, expands its presence in Iasi by opening KFC Mall Moldova, the third KFC restaurant in the city.
The KFC Mall Moldova has benefited from an investment of approximately 600 thousand EUR and is equipped to the latest design and technology standards.
The unit features first-of-its-kind innovations to further streamline the order preparation and delivery process. Digital menus are placed above the ordering kiosks to make it easier for customers to view product details.
In the kitchen, the space has been reconfigured to increase speed in the packing area with the T-line system, which optimizes workflow.
The new restaurant is located in the most recent mall in Iasi, Mall Moldova, located on 121, Păcurari Road, and has an area of 176 square meters. The restaurant is located in the food court area and will operate from 10:00 – 22:00.
Consumers receive free refills for soft drinks in the new restaurant. The products can be consumed in the mall, purchased to takeaway, ordered online via the delivery platforms or through the Click & Collect function available in the KFC App.
With this new facility, 35 new jobs are being generated in the community, ranging from kitchen worker to management positions. As per KFC’s practice, employees have real career opportunities within the company in 2024, with 88% of managers coming from internal promotions. The salary package on offer includes a net remuneration exceeding RON 3,300 after the first two months (comprising base salary, meal vouchers and various financial incentives), in line with KFC policies. In addition, employees benefit from unrestricted access to an online educational platform with more than 750 courses for both professional and personal development.
The opening in Iasi is the second KFC opening in 2025, after the Drive Thru restaurant in Galati opened in March, which also marked a first, being the first KFC equipped with photovoltaic panels. For the current year, the investment plan includes a total budget of RON 54 million earmarked for the opening of new units, the modernization of others in order to maintain the high standards imposed by the franchisor at an international level, and continued investment in digitalization and technology.
