Ion Țiriac invests in a sports complex in Brașov

The project for the new sports complex developed by businessman Ion Țiriac in partnership with the Brașov City Hall will enter local authority discussions for the approval of technical and economic indicators. The investment is estimated at nearly EUR 4.78 million and is to be located on the land of the former public pool in the city.

The future sports facility will include a mini-football pitch for children, an athletics track, six tennis courts, areas for 20 basketball hoops, an ice rink, as well as dedicated infrastructure for hockey, judo, and fencing. The implementation timeframe of the investment is estimated at 15 months, of which 12 months are designated for construction work, with a completion deadline set for the summer of 2026. As part of the collaboration with the municipality led by Mayor George Scripcaru, Ion Țiriac, a former member of the national hockey team, has already donated full sets of equipment worth nearly EUR 90 thousand for 130 children in the hockey division.

In addition to the sports investment, the Brașov businessman is developing a real estate project on Hărmanului Street, on the former site of the IUS factory. Structured in three development phases, this project aims to build 600 apartments and involves a total investment of over EUR 100 million.
