Iasi City Hall wants to establish a special tax to be paid by tourism operators. The Mayor of Iasi, Mihai Chirica, stated that the money coming from this tax will be used solely for the city’s tourism promotion, and the actions will be designed together with the operators.
According to him, the tax will be applied to all tourism operators, depending on each one’s activity, but he did not go into details about its value.
In Oradea, this tax reaches 2% of the tourism operators’ accommodation revenues.
The special tourism tax could be introduced starting in 2017.
