The Triumf Hotel in Bucharest, part of the RA-APPS portfolio, will be transformed into a headquarters for public institutions, with some of the potential tenants currently measuring the spaces in the building being the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) and the Ministry of Justice.
The transformation of a hotel of such magnitude into space for public institutions will represent a first for Romania after 1989.
The Triumf Hotel is classified at 2 stars, has an area of almost 6,000 sqm, and is located on a 15,000 sqm plot of land. The unit also features 98 rooms and suites across 4 floors, a restaurant with a capacity of 120 seats, and a summer garden with 60 seats.
Official sources stated that, given that no buyers were found for the hotel, the Government requested RA-APPS to withdraw the asset from the list of properties for sale.
According to the same sources, the DNA requested the Government to provide a new central headquarters, as the building where it currently operates no longer meets the personnel and activity requirements of the institution; the Triumf Hotel was proposed as a headquarters, and the offer was considered attractive.
Consequently, the DNA, as well as the Ministry of Justice, which is also interested in moving to this space, have begun evaluating the building for takeover from RA-APPS.
In the event of moving to the Triumf Hotel, the DNA and the Ministry of Justice will cover the costs of renovation and subsequent administration of the building from their own budgets.
