In the context where, starting January 1, 2019, Romania will take over the presidency of the EU Council for six months and over 200 events will be organized in Bucharest, in addition to another 100 actions in the rest of the country, inspection actions of hotels in Bucharest have been initiated.
A total of 23 hotels in the center of the Capital have signed a protocol with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based on which they will provide accommodation for participants in the events hosted by Romania in the context of taking over the EU presidency.
These units are now being checked, along with other accommodation structures that are not on the list.
“They are checking them from the perspective of sanitary-veterinary security, from the perspective of security norms, whether they have a contract with a security firm, whether they have surveillance cameras, whether employees are registered in Revisal, and they are also checking from a financial perspective if they comply with procedures,” stated representatives of the industry associations.
