Hotel Europa in Eforie Nord concluded the June-August season with an occupancy rate of over 90%, an increase of approximately 5% compared to the same period last year. Of the total number of tourists, 30% are foreign visitors.
For the most part, foreign tourists arrive through tour operators and large agencies, though the number of bookings made directly on the hotel’s website has increased in recent years. Over 35% of the tourists who arrived this summer utilized spa services.
Iuliana Tasie, General Manager of Hotel Europa, stated that the only substantial difference between Romanian and foreign tourists is the length of stay. Romanian tourists visit for periods of 7 or even 10 to 14 days, but also come for weekends for relaxation. In contrast, foreign clients have an average stay of about 10 days, whether they come for treatment or simply for a vacation.
From the beginning of this year until September, the conference segment recorded a growth of over 20%, and an increase was also felt in the Food & Beverage area through the number of social events.
Hotel Europa is part of the Ana Hotels group, which last year recorded a turnover of EUR 25.2 million and a net profit of approximately EUR 2 million, according to data from the Ministry of Public Finance website.
The Ana Hotels group also includes Athenee Palace Hilton and Crowne Plaza in Bucharest, the Sport and Sport Wellness Spa hotels, the Bradul hotel in Poiana Brasov, and Ana Teleferic.
