Hotel Bicaz in the Mamaia resort will become, starting this May, the first themed accommodation structure on the coast. Both the interior designs and the employees’ costumes will bring to mind the movie „Pirates of the Caribbean”.
Each room will have a large painting with this theme, and the hotel will be named „Pirates Resort Bicaz”, a name that already appears on promotional brochures. After a few years, „Bicaz” will disappear from the hotel’s name.
Brothers Dan and Catalin Alexandrescu sold their spice and cake ingredients business Alex & Comp last summer for 8 million EUR to Fuchs and Dr. Oetker, and invested part of the money in tourism, purchasing Hotel Bicaz in Mamaia for 5 million EUR. The owners invested another 1 million EUR in renovation and decoration.
The unit will operate this year on a half-board and full-board basis, and from next year it will also sell all-inclusive packages.
The hotel, which will open on May 1st, is reclassified from 2 to 3 stars and will have 158 rooms and 8 apartments, with a capacity of 300 places.
