Hotel Atlas in St. George Square, Timișoara, owned by Metaltim SA—a company belonging to Octavian Grama and Darius Jumanca—reopened for tourists in November last year.
Following the technical expertise report of the hotel, consolidation works were required.
A large portion of the materials, including the wooden beams, were preserved, as were many of the bricks resulting from the demolished walls, which were then reused.
The hotel cost over €7 million, and the design was executed by a firm from Timișoara. The facade maintains the old architectural line, but the interior is a modern building.
The first building section has four levels plus an attic, the second has two floors plus an attic, and the third, built from scratch on Augustin Pacha Street, features three rooms and three suites, as well as access to the underground parking.
In 2023, Timișoara will be the European Capital of Culture; therefore, the city is expected to be visited by more tourists.
