Hospitality Management Academy estimates that next year, salaries for tourism employees—with a net average of 500 EUR/month for travel agents and 300 EUR for hotel staff—are expected to increase by up to 20%.
Labor migration in hospitality and tourism, the short seaside season, deficient infrastructure, difficult connectivity between various tourist regions, and the lack of dedicated hospitality schools are just some of the issues highlighted during Hospitality Management Academy’s meetings with travel agents and hoteliers across the country.
Several tourism players, including Dragos Anastasiu, owner of the Eurolines group, Calin Ile, director of Ibis hotels in Romania, and Razvan Pirjol, head of the Bucharest Tourism Board, will provide consultancy to travel agency and hotel managers until May 2019. This initiative is part of a project that will organize training for 600 Romanian tourism professionals operating in the South-West, Center, and South-East regions, provide mentoring and coaching for 200 industry professionals, intensive HR courses for regional teams, and facilitate networking and communication among major tourism stakeholders in the targeted areas.
Enrollment is open to any individual with higher education who holds a management position in a travel agency, hotel, or tourism-related service within the project’s regions and seeks an industry update from leading professionals.
Project co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Human Capital Operational Program 2014-2020.
