Over 60% of hotel and restaurant operators do not have the approval of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), and setting the deadline for obtaining it at January 1, 2016, will completely block the activity of hotels, restaurants, and bars, stated the president of the Romanian Hotel and Restaurant Employers’ Organization – HORA, Dragos Petrescu.
HORA proposes that for those who have already submitted their files for approval to ISU, a six-month period be granted to obtain the respective approval, without suspending the activity of those who requested it.
According to FPTR, currently, over 80% of hotels in Romania are safe from the point of view of ISU norms.
In the hospitality industry, at the national level, according to HORA data, approximately 25,000 companies (hotels, bars, restaurants, clubs) operate, having a total of 600,000 employees.
