Holiday Vouchers for Public Sector Employees Mark a Revival for Domestic Tourism

Representatives of the Domestic Tourism Commission within the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT) stated in Mamaia, following a working meeting with members of the Professional Association of Ticket Issuers, that granting holiday vouchers to public sector employees marks a revival for domestic tourism.

Adrian Voican, a member of the ANAT board of directors, stated that the number of holiday vouchers granted this year by employers to public and budgetary sector employees has increased spectacularly, and this fact will generate an increase in both the number of overnight stays in tourist accommodation structures in the country and the degree of fiscalization in reception structures.

In his opinion, another important aspect results from the fact that, against the backdrop of increased tourist circulation and the number of overnight stays generated by the entry into the market of a large number of vouchers, many unclassified units or those in the grey area of tourism have moved into the classified, official area, and „this brings a lot of money to the Romanian state, through the fiscalization of tourism.”
