Greece: over 7% increase in the number of tourists in 2015

Last year, Greece recorded a 7.1% increase in the number of tourists, reaching 23.6 million people.
At the same time, revenues recorded by the profile sector rose by 6%, to EUR 14.2 billion.
Revenues generated by American tourists recorded an increase of 44% compared to 2014, reaching EUR 945.6 million, while receipts brought by British tourists increased by 30.5%, to over EUR 2 billion, according to data presented by the Bank of Greece.
Tourists from Germany left EUR 2.26 billion in Greece in 2015, an increase of 13.6%, while the French left EUR 1.2 billion in Greece, 6.6% more compared to 2014.
Receipts from Russian tourists recorded a decrease of 63%, to EUR 425.5 million.
