According to a study conducted by AmFostAcolo.ro, Greece ranked first in Romanians’ preferences regarding holiday destinations, with over 25% of Romanians’ holiday choices for the 2017 season, followed by Romania with 13% in 2017, Turkey with 10%, and Bulgaria with 7%.
A significant increase was recorded this year for destinations in Spain and Italy (12%).
8% of respondents chose “other destinations”, generally destinations in Western Europe.
According to the responses, the average Romanian goes on 1.25 vacations per year. Thus, we can say that one in four Romanian tourists goes to two or more distinct countries in 2017.
