Government Analyzes the Possibility of Establishing a Public-Private Promotion Office in Tourism

Present at the opening of the Tourism Fair at Romexpo, Prime Minister Victor Ponta told those present that he is dissatisfied because both his Government and previous ones have failed, through the National Authority for Tourism, ANT, to develop this segment. Consequently, he invited the private sector to partner with the Government in finding solutions.
The Prime Minister specified that it is a systemic problem and believes that the correct solution for tourism is no longer a strictly public, governmental national authority, but a partnership between the Government and the private sector. He noted that he has already received a proposal, a national tourism organization, a formula that other countries have already applied.
„I am addressing an appeal to the representatives of the private sector to support us in this public-private partnership, and policy decisions regarding tourism in Romania should no longer be taken by government officials, but together with the private sector, in such a way that we truly have efficient policies", Victor Ponta told the representatives of tourism companies participating in the opening of the Tourism Fair.
