FPTR requests the suspension of the Bucharest tourism promotion tax for this year

The Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers (FPTR) requests the suspension for this year of the special tourism promotion tax for the Municipality of Bucharest, paid by Romanian and foreign tourists staying in the Capital, and specifies that travel restrictions imposed on the population in several countries around the world, amid the coronavirus, have generated a significant reduction in the number of tourists in Bucharest hotels.
The special tax for the tourism promotion of the municipality of Bucharest for the year 2020 was set at a rate of 2% of the accommodation revenue for each day of a tourist’s stay in Bucharest.
This promotion tax was increased for the year 2020 from 1% to 2%.
