Romania stood out in the European competition “Destinations of Sustainable Cultural Tourism 2025”, organized by the European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) and the European Travel Commission (ETC), winning four awards out of a total of 48 projects from 14 countries.
- Category “Resilience in Sustainable Cultural Tourism Destinations” – First Place: Responsible Tourism in the Saxon Cultural Landscape: A Path to Community Resilience, Transylvanian Hills Association.
- Category “Digitizing Cultural Heritage and Smart Tourism” – 2nd Place: Biertan Audio Quest, Designers Thinkers Makers; 3rd Place: Digitally Preserving the Past: Resilient Heritage Experiences in Sibiu for Smart Tourism Future, Sibiu City Hall.
- Category “Cultural tourism services for all” – Second place: Via Transilvanica: The Road That Unites, Țășuleasa Social Association.
The Awards Gala will take place from October 1-4, 2025, in Sibiu, during the International Conference for Cultural Tourism.
