Eximtur: 6% Turnover Increase in H1 2015

In the first half of this year, the travel agency Eximtur recorded a turnover of 23.7 million EUR, an increase of 6% compared to the same period in 2014, with business travel and event organization activities, related to the Eximtur Business division, representing 63% of the value.
The Eximtur Business division recorded a 13% increase in sales in the first six months of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014. The most dynamic Eximtur Business centers were Cluj-Napoca, with an increase of approximately 28%, Bucharest and Sibiu, each growing by 16% compared to the first semester of 2014.
These results are due to winning new clients through participation in public tenders, expanding the Business client portfolio in the Transylvania area, and the business development of existing clients.  
Regarding leisure tourism, the preferred destinations for tourists this summer are Romania, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Spain, and Italy. 
Sales for areas in Romania offering spa tourism possibilities and outdoor activities or spa & wellness facilities saw a significant increase, being approximately 100% higher than the previous year. Among these, the Baile Felix resort is the favorite of Eximtur tourists, followed by Calimanesti – Caciulata and Sovata. 
On the coast, Mamaia remains at the top of preferences, followed by Saturn and Eforie-Nord. For the Romanian seaside, Eximtur estimates a 9% increase in sales this year.
The number of tourists who chose Eximtur for vacations abroad increased by approximately 15% compared to the first semester of 2014.
Sales of stays for Greece increased by 30%, and for Croatia by 70%.
The Eximtur travel agency owns 29 owned and franchised agencies in 19 cities in Romania. At the end of 2014, Eximtur’s turnover was 39.6 million EUR. The company’s activity is organized into four divisions: Business travel and event organization, leisure travel, incoming, and tourism school. The Eximtur Business division is present in four major urban centers: Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, and Sibiu.
