Evolution of arrivals and overnight stays in the first two months of 2015

Overnight stays registered in tourist reception structures in February totaled 1067.6 thousand, an increase of 12.7% compared to those in February 2014. Of these, 80.1% represented overnight stays of Romanian tourists and 19.9% were foreign tourists.
Regarding overnight stays of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe – 75.8% of total foreign tourists, and of these, 83.3% were from countries belonging to the European Union.

Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 60.6% come from European Union states, and among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Hungary – 31.8%, Bulgaria – 29.9%, Germany – 7.2%, Italy – 6.8%, Poland – 5.5%, and Austria – 2.9%.
Departures of Romanian visitors abroad, registered at border points, were 823.4 thousand in February, an increase of 5.2% compared to February 2014. Road transport means were the most used for departures abroad, representing 75.6% of the total number of departures.
