Overnight stays registered in tourist accommodation establishments in November 2016 totaled 1651.4 thousand, an increase of 0.1% compared to November 2015. Of these, 81.3% represented overnight stays of Romanian tourists and 18.7% represented overnight stays of foreign tourists.
Regarding the overnight stays of foreign tourists in tourist accommodation establishments, the largest share was held by those from Europe – 76.3% of the total foreign tourists, and of these 83.8% were from European Union countries.

Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 53.9% come from European Union states. Among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Bulgaria – 32.2%, Hungary – 25.4%, Italy – 8.9%, Germany – 6.5%, Poland – 6.1%, and France – 3.2%.

November 1181.8 thousand, an increase of 24% compared to November 2015. Road
transport means were the most used for departures abroad, representing 65.6% of the
