Overnight stays registered in tourist reception structures in August 2017 totaled 4,537 thousand, an increase of 3.8% compared to August 2016. Of these, 85.3% represented overnight stays of Romanian tourists, and 14.7% represented overnight stays of foreign tourists.
Regarding the overnight stays of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe – 70.1% of the total foreign tourists, and of these, 87% were from European Union countries.
