The Cluj County Council has launched the tender for design and technical assistance services for the construction of the Cluj Regional Conference and Congress Center (4C). The project is valued at EUR 4 million, an amount to be covered from the county budget, and will be located on a 10-hectare plot of land owned by the institution, in the immediate vicinity of the “Avram Iancu” International Airport and the Park & Ride facility.
According to statements made by the President of the Cluj County Council, Alin Tișe, for the publication Transilvania Business, the future modular complex is designed to become the largest exhibition complex in Romania, surpassing the area of Romexpo Bucharest. The investment timeline foresees the completion of the feasibility study by the end of this year, followed by the drafting of the necessary authorization documentation at the beginning of next year. The actual start of construction work is estimated for the spring of 2027.
The 4C multifunctional complex will be structured into several areas: a foyer and reception area of 4,000-5,000 sqm, a congress center of 10,000-12,000 sqm with a divisible 3,000-seat plenary hall, as well as open-space exhibition pavilions of 10,000-12,000 sqm. The complex will also include a logistics and storage area of 4,000-5,000 sqm equipped with truck loading ramps and catering spaces, alongside a technical and administrative area of 2,000 sqm.
