EUR 4.62 million investment in Călărași tourism

The Center Regional Development Agency (RDA), the Călărași District Council, and the company “Marnicmih” S.R.L. have signed a works contract worth EUR 4.62 million to modernize the tourism infrastructure in the Călărași district, Republic of Moldova. The project, co-financed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and local authorities, aims to increase the attractiveness of regional tourist sites by rehabilitating access roads and creating new facilities for visitors.

The initiative, titled “Increasing the attractiveness of tourist sites of regional importance in the Călărași district through infrastructure rehabilitation and development”, is funded through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL). The works will be executed within 12 months from the issuance of the commencement order and include infrastructure interventions in several key localities in the district.

In the village of Hoginești, 2.05 km of access road to the “Casa Olarului” (Potter’s House) craft workshop and the “Sf. Cuvioasă Parascheva” wooden church will be rehabilitated. In the village of Palanca, the access road to the “Acoperământul Maicii Domnului” wooden church and the “Casa Părintească” (Parental House) Museum will be fully rehabilitated. The project also includes the construction of two panoramic observation platforms in the town of Călărași and the village of Hoginești, as well as the development of a tourist stopover between the localities of Hîrbovăț and Hoginești. According to the leadership of RDA Center and the Călărași District Council, the investment will directly contribute to the development of the local economy, supporting family businesses and increasing the number of tourists in the Codru region.
