eSky: Domestic Bookings by Romanian Tourists Increased by 55% in 2019

According to the eSky travel agency, in 2019, the number of domestic bookings made by Romanian tourists increased by 55% compared to 2018. During the same period, the number of intercontinental bookings increased by 68% compared to 2018.
The number of tourists who insured their trip also increased in 2019 by 29% compared to 2018. 
Most intercontinental bookings were made to destinations such as: the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, Jordan, China, Egypt, Thailand, and Japan.
Romanians’ favorite destinations in 2019 were, as in previous years, on the European continent: the United Kingdom with 23% of the total number of flight tickets purchased, followed by Italy (19.5%) in second place, Germany (13.5%), Spain (8%), France (6%), and Belgium (5%).
Among the preferred cities in 2019 was London, followed by Milan, Brussels, Rome, Paris, and Vienna.
The average price of a flight ticket in 2019 was 129 EUR, a decrease of 13 EUR compared to 2018 when it was 116 EUR.
Additionally, mobile traffic increased by 13.2%, and transactions made via mobile devices increased by 40% compared to 2018.
