The Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Bogdan Ivan, announces the finalization of the procedures aimed at allocating 200 million RON for the repair of the damage caused by the floods in Praid and 100 million lei for tourism entrepreneurs operating in the flood-affected area.
“We have allocated emergency funds for repairs and direct support to the flood-affected community. RON 300 million will be available from today with the publication of the support schemes in the Official Journal. Also today, I will be on the spot again, together with the people of Praid and the teams of experts who are working against the clock to stabilize and safely divert the course of the river Corund,” said Bogdan Ivan, Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
The orders initiated by the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEDAT) concern the state aid scheme worth RON 200 million to repair the damage caused by the floods in Praid, as well as the de minimis aid scheme worth RON 100 million for tourism enterprises in Praid – including spa tourism and catering – affected by the floods. The support measures are valid from the date of publication in the Official Journal of Romania until December 31, 2025.
Damage reparation is aimed at a maximum of 20 enterprises whose activity, carried out in the affected territorial area, was directly affected by the floods and which meet the conditions laid down in the Ministerial Order. The damage must be assessed by an assessor authorized by the National Association of Authorized Assessors in Romania and by an authorized accountant or an expert assessment firm belonging to the Romanian Association of Accountants and Authorized Accountants.
The de minimis aid will be granted in the form of a grant and is 15% of the turnover in 2024. The maximum number of beneficiaries is 300, and the aid will not exceed the threshold of EUR 300 thousand/beneficiary, subject to the de minimis ceiling per single enterprise and the legal rules on cumulation of de minimis aid.
Eligible beneficiaries of de minimis aid are small or medium-sized tourism enterprises affected by flooding, which have their registered office or places of work and carry out the activity for which they are applying for funding in the territory of the Praid administrative-territorial unit.
