Dubai International Airport opens extension, increasing capacity to 90 million passengers/year

On February 24, Dubai International Airport inaugurated a new extension that increases its annual capacity from 75 million passengers per year to 90 million passengers per year.
The investment in the new airport extension amounted to USD 1.2 billion and will be used by over 70 airlines. It will be connected via train to Terminal 1, which has just been renovated.
At the beginning of January, Dubai International Airport confirmed its position as the world’s largest airport in terms of international passengers, a title it acquired in 2014 when it surpassed London’s Heathrow airport.
