The Trebujeni Landscape Reserve, a protected area of national importance, according to the Law on the Fund of State Protected Natural Areas and the Law on the Establishment of the Cultural-Natural Reserve “Orheiul Vechi”. This reserve aims to preserve geographical landscapes of national importance and provides an ideal setting for scientific research. It provides optimal conditions for the protection and restoration of rare plant and animal species. Also on the route are the traces of the old medieval Caldarâm, a construction from the period of the Tatar-Mongol occupation (14th century). This road linked important buildings such as the palace, the mosque, the caravanserai and the Tatar baths. Preserved to this day only in places, the cobblestone is made of well-structured pieces of stone and even had an advanced drainage system, demonstrating the skill of the medieval builders. Part of it remains hidden under the road leading to Trebujeni. The “Dragon’s Trail” was realized within the project “Eco App for Sustainable Tourism in the Republic of Moldova”, co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and implemented by the National Tourism Office with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova. “This route is an important step towards the development of sustainable tourism and promotion of the unique heritage we have here in the Republic of Moldova.
