Direct charters between Romania and Thailand would lower holiday package prices to this destination
Thai hoteliers have stated that Romanian tour operators are in discussions to introduce direct charters between Romania and Thailand.
The number of Romanian tourists vacationing in Phuket has increased several times in recent years, and the introduction of direct charters between Bucharest and Phuket would lower holiday package prices and shorten the journey by several hours, said Angelica Aliberti, Sales Director at Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort.
She says that for Romanian tourists, direct charters would bring two major advantages: the holiday package would be cheaper, and the journey would be much shorter, taking only 11-12 hours, compared to the 15-16 hours it currently takes, considering that layovers now last several hours and connecting flights can be delayed.
The busiest months are December, January, and February, which is the peak season.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand recently estimated that the country will be visited by 37-38 million tourists this year, up from 2017, when 35 million visitors were recorded.
