Marius and Emil Cristescu have signed with the Ibis network, part of the Orbis group, for the affiliation of the hotel they will build in Timisoara, following an investment of over EUR 10 million.
The hotel project is in the authorization phase, and construction is expected to begin this year. The hotel will have 200 rooms and will be classified at 3 stars, stated Emil Cristescu.
The unit is set to open in 2020, one year before Timisoara becomes the European Capital of Culture.
According to the investors, the decision to build the hotel was made after their 4-star hotel in Timisoara received increasing requests for 3-star accommodation from clients who cannot afford 4-star rates and are looking for a 3-star plus unit.
The businessmen own the Timisoara and Nord hotels in Timisoara, the Timisoara hotel in Sannicolau Mare, and the Arsenal Park tourist and leisure complex in Orastie.
