Bucharest’s logo has been chosen

Bucharest has a new logo. The Capital’s City Hall announces another winner/ Narcis Teodor Lupou, the designer of the disqualified logo: I was totally surprised to see that there are similarities with Taipei
The Capital’s City Hall announces that, following the disqualification of the work initially declared the winner, the jury has designated a new winner for the creation of a representative logo for Bucharest, this being Alexandru Mihai Nenciu, whose logo proposal was the next ranked according to the score.
„The logo created by me tries to tell a story, to reconstruct the stages of a history, through the simplified representation of four symbol-edifices of Bucharest: the Arch of Triumph, the CEC Palace, the Romanian Athenaeum, and the National Arena. The logo is nothing more than a vector for transmitting collective identity", stated Alexandru Mihai Nenciu.
The contest organizers decided, in agreement with the jury members, that the actual handing over of the prize and the signing of the copyright assignment contract will take place within 7 days of the public communication of the decision. The winner will be validated only if during this interval, in which the work will be publicly displayed on the Bucharest City Hall website and on the Facebook page, no pertinent reports regarding potential plagiarism or similarity with another existing logo appear.
Alongside the General Mayor, the jury included: Prof. Mircia Dumitrescu, corresponding member of the Romanian Academy, Arts, Architecture and Audiovisual section; Adrian Majuru, director of the Bucharest Municipality Museum; Anca Boeriu, lecturer at the UNARTE Graphics department; Dr. Vladimir Nicula, lecturer at the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism; Ioana Ciocan, Vice President of the Fine Artists’ Union; Dochita Zenoveiov, brand innovator, „INOVEO”; Bogdan Naumovici, managing partner „23 Communication Ideas”; Corina Vintan, managing partner „Links Associates”; Mirel Palada, sociologist.
