Bucharest has been included in a ranking of the best cities for millennials conducted by the apartment search platform Nestpick, with Romania’s capital ranking 98th out of 110 in the overall standings, but in fifth position in terms of criteria related solely to essential needs.

In the top spots of the general ranking, which analyzes 17 criteria, are Berlin, Montreal, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, Vancouver, Barcelona, New York, Cologne, and Manchester, which best cover young people’s expectations regarding the startup ecosystem, housing affordability, tolerance, universities, prices, and nightlife.

Including only the basic needs area, Bucharest is in fifth place, with the top spots occupied by Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, and Brno.

Among the major metropolises, Beijing has the best rating for the Labor Market criterion, New York for Startups, Hong Kong for tourism, Guadalajara (Mexico) for housing, Bangkok for food, Oslo for transport, Tokyo for health, Seoul for internet speed, London for the university area, Berlin takes first place in terms of nightlife, and Beijing has the lowest beer prices.
