Bucharest ranks among the regional capitals with the highest rates for five-star accommodations, surpassing markets with a much more developed hotel infrastructure, such as Warsaw or Prague. An analysis conducted by Ziarul Financiar based on data from the Booking.com platform for the period February 27 – March 1 reveals an imbalance between the level of local infrastructure and the prices charged in the luxury segment.
During the period analyzed, the most expensive hotel in Bucharest charges around EUR 1,200 for a two-night stay. This level puts the capital above Warsaw, where, although there is a superior infrastructure and several premium hotels, the highest price is €940 for a room at the Raffles Europejski Warsaw. Budapest rates are above Bucharest, reaching €1,300 for a room at the Four Seasons, but benefits from higher standard brands. In contrast, Prague is below Bucharest and Budapest, with the cost of a room at the Four Seasons Hotel at €1,000 for the same weekend.
