Romania is a country with great tourism potential. Two years ago, 25 000 properties in Romania were listed on booking.com, while now the number has risen to 40 000, including all types of accommodation. Although since the pandemic, alternative accommodations have become more widespread all over the world, including in our country, the leader of Booking Holdings says that Romanians book mostly hotels, apartments, hostels, apartments in hotels and only at the end accommodation provided by hosts. “Maybe they restrict their spending on other necessities, because they don’t cut back on vacations,” Ewout Steenbergen, executive vice president & chief financial officer at Booking Holdings, the American travel-booking group, said in an interview with wall-street.ro. In terms of locations, the most popular destinations in Romania booked through booking.com are:
