This year, cultural projects will continue, some of which have become a tradition at Bran Castle, along with investments for the conservation of the historical monument and for improving the range of services for visitors. “Investments in the Tea House have been completed; it will be reintroduced into the tourist circuit and will function as a restaurant. Work continues on the two construction sites opened in 2016: the renovation of the south-east and south-west facades of the castle, including the restoration of mural paintings. Over 1 million RON has already been spent on these,” stated Bogdana Balmus.

Additionally, two other projects will start this year, one being the rehabilitation of the elevator and the elevator shaft connecting the castle’s inner courtyard to its base in the Royal Park through a tunnel. The second major investment this year is the urgent need for renovation, restoration, and elimination of the Serpula Lacrymans fungus infestation at the Medieval Customs Museum.

This year, on November 19, Bran Castle celebrates 640 years since its first documentary attestation.
